Crown Jewels

Still being in the Royal Wedding mood, I thought I would do a jewellery post and I would give it a very original title... 

Did you guys watch the wedding? How awesome was it?

I grew up in a household filled with furniture from the 1950's, my parents were big fan! Accordingly, every piece of jewellery that I ever received from my parents was vintage. There was my mother's pearls (in a bracelet) for my 16th,  the Georg Jensen necklace for my 18th, the Georg Jensen bracelet for my 20th and the Tiffany and Co bracelet for my 22nd - Georg Jensen is a great favourite in the Roegiers household!

My grandmother also gave my her Line Vautrin Brooches and bracelet which I adore!

I have added to my collection from vintage shops around the world. Although they are not precious, they are still loads of fun!

The backdrop to the pictures is my first ever French Vogue from September 2002! I have been collecting them since then! It is a Vogue Tower!

I had to jump on the bandwagon of the Royal Wedding!

I opted for this lace piece which used to be two shirts found in a thrift shop in Camden, Maine... How random, I know! But hey that's where my sister lives now!

I love the end result, although it took me several attempts to get the beading right.

Believe it or not but the pair of Converse used to belong to my sister (yes the one who lives in Camden, Maine) when she was in high school... and let's just put it that way Mark Wahlberg was still called Marky Mark at the time... Gotta love a transgenerational pair of Converse!

As for the wedding, I'm doing a brunch at home. So so excited but not the least bit jealous... I've always been a Harry's girl!

The Silver Lining

A couple of summers ago I created a website where I sold tops that I made using fair trade organic cotton. I called the whole thing Cam's T and this is one of them. It was called the Silver Lining because all the sewing is done with silver thread...

I though it was only appropriate to paired it with silver jeans... I spent yesterday spray painting this pair of jeans in my garden. I had to use three cans but I love the result!

The bag and the belt belonged to my mother. It is always great to find treasures like that in your mum's closet!

Happy Happy Friday!! Hope you all had a wonderful week and preparing for a great weekend! What are the plans? 

I have a good friend visiting and they will probably be a lot of sewing involved... Happy times!

And we're back in front of the door!

This one is a lazy one... I've had this jacket forever and I love it so much but it needed a little bit of updating so I added the shoulder and elbow patches, easy but effective! What do you think?

As I promised here is a picture not taken in front of the door! This is the lounge with the paint testers... You guessed it, we're going for grey walls!

I made this dress about 2 years ago and the lace comes from another dress from Retro Paradise, I really liked how it looked over the purple fabric. This dress has been one of my clubbing staples and accordingly has been well documented on Facebook... It's only natural that I showcase it here!

In the Navy...

This jumper used to be my boyfriend's... it was very cosy but not very fashiony... so... I made it a deep V-neck, added some shoulder pads and studs and voila... a Navy inspired top...

I decided to go all the way with the stern fringe, the blue make-up, the gold jewellery and obviously high high heels!

I also hope you're starting to enjoy my front door... When we finish decorating, I will try to take pictures in other rooms of the apartment!
